The ruins of ancient Smyrna are on the coastline of western Turkey in the middle of modern Izmir, Turkey. One of the Seven Letters in Revelation is to the church in Smyrna, and the famous bishop Polycarp was martyred in the stadium here about A.D. 155. (Click video album to go to that page.)
